Behind the Scenes at AHEM: Christina Secrest

This series profiles the volunteer board members of AHEM who answer your phone calls and emails; keep the AHEM website updated; follow MA legislation; maintain the homeschool policy and practice database; and dream up and make happen events and programs like homeschooling workshops, Town Point People, the AHEM Networking Forum, and the Slow Homeschooling podcast.

Christina Secrest

Christina lives in Plainville with her partner and five children. On the path to discovering her homeschooling journey, she struggled through many challenging years in the public schools with her three oldest children. Together with a high schooler and two elementary-aged children, she embraces a relaxed/eclectic style of homeschooling and a passion for child-led learning. Christina loves all things nature-related and prefers to spend as much time as possible outdoors, hiking and exploring with her kids. When she’s not restoring old furniture or diy’ing yet another home improvement project, she and her family can be found spending time at Franklin Farm lovingly caring for the animals and helping tend and harvest crops.
